President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Kaduna State for the official flag-off of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general election.

The campaign launch, scheduled for Saturday, October 24, marks the beginning of the ruling party’s nationwide mobilisation efforts for Tinubu’s re-election bid.

The President was received by senior government officials, security chiefs and APC leaders upon his arrival in the state.

Among those involved in the campaign preparations are Abdulaziz Yari, Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, and Nentawe Yilwatda, the party’s national chairman.

The event is expected to bring together APC governors, members of the National Assembly, party stakeholders and supporters from across the country.

Tinubu is also expected to commission projects in Kaduna and hold engagements with political leaders and other stakeholders during his visit.

Kaduna State has been preparing to host the campaign launch, with security arrangements and facilities at the rally venue put in place ahead of the gathering. The event is expected to serve as a platform for the APC to present its message and mobilise support for the President ahead of the 2027 election.

The campaign flag-off follows the inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council in Abuja on October 14, when Tinubu urged party leaders to demonstrate unity and commitment as they work towards the next general election.

Tinubu is seeking a second term under the APC. Among the major opposition contenders listed for the 2027 presidential election are Atiku Abubakar of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Peter Obi of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

The Kaduna rally is expected to be followed by further campaign engagements in other parts of the country as political parties intensify preparations for the January 2027 election.
