Veteran Yoruba actor Yinka Quadri has opened up about his marriage to his wife, Sadiat, revealing how she maintained cordial relationships with female colleagues he was romantically involved with, even when some of the actresses informed her about his other relationships.
Quadri shared the experience in a snippet of an interview with African A List released on Friday, explaining that his wife was aware of his relationships with other women but did not confront the actresses involved.
According to the Nollywood veteran, some of his female colleagues would approach Sadiat to tell her that he was dating other actresses, even when some of those making the disclosures were reportedly also romantically involved with him.
“At some point, some female colleagues in the industry will approach my wife to gossip that I’m dating other actresses, even though I’m also dating some of the very actresses who gossip about me. My wife knows about it and doesn’t fight with them,” he said.
The actor further recounted how his wife treated some of the actresses who visited their home after late-night film productions.
Quadri said Sadiat would provide food and accommodation for the women despite knowing about their alleged relationships with him.
“Sometimes, when we finish production late and some of them come to sleep at my house, my wife feeds and takes care of them despite knowing that I’m dating them,” he added.
The revelation has offered a glimpse into the actor’s account of his personal life and the way his wife handled relationships involving his colleagues in the Yoruba film industry.
Quadri met Sadiat in 1985, and the couple got married in 1989. Their marriage has produced children and grandchildren, spanning decades alongside his career in the Nigerian film industry.
