A student of Plateau State University (PLASU), Bokkos, identified as Miss Favour Ayuba, has regained her freedom after being abducted within the university community in Plateau State.
Security sources said troops of Sector 5, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), deployed to the institution received information about her release at approximately 7:20pm on Sunday, November 1, 2026.
Ayuba was reportedly kidnapped on Saturday, October 31, within the university premises in Bokkos Local Government Area.
Following her release, she was taken to a hospital for medical examination to assess her condition after the incident.
The circumstances surrounding her release remain unclear, while details about the identity of the suspected kidnappers and whether any ransom was paid have not been disclosed.
It is also unclear whether security agencies have arrested anyone in connection with the abduction.
Her freedom comes amid continuing security concerns in parts of Plateau State, where kidnapping and attacks on communities have prompted sustained security operations.
Troops of Operation Enduring Peace have continued operations across affected areas as authorities work to tackle criminal activities and improve safety.
The release of the PLASU student is a development likely to bring relief to her family, fellow students and members of the university community.
