Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, the 18-year-old daughter of Hollywood stars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, has filed a legal request to remove “Pitt” from her surname.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Vivienne is asking to officially change her name from Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt to Vivienne Marcheline Jolie. The filing reportedly states that the request is based on personal reasons.
The name change follows Vivienne’s recent public use of the surname Jolie. She was credited as Vivienne Jolie in the Playbill for the Broadway production The Outsiders, a project she worked on as a producer alongside her mother, Angelina Jolie.
Vivienne’s decision is the latest in a series of similar moves by the former couple’s children. Earlier, her sister Shiloh successfully obtained court approval to legally remove “Pitt” from her name shortly after celebrating her 18th birthday. Their siblings, Zahara and Maddox, have also publicly identified themselves without using the Pitt surname.
People close to Brad Pitt previously told TMZ that they believe the growing distance between the actor and several of his children has been influenced by Angelina Jolie. They reportedly view Vivienne’s legal filing as another indication of the ongoing family rift.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie officially concluded their lengthy divorce proceedings in late 2024 after years of legal battles. Despite finalising their divorce, the former Hollywood couple remain locked in a separate dispute over Château Miraval, the French winery they acquired together during their marriage.
Vivienne and her twin brother, Knox, are the youngest of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s six children. The latest legal filing adds another development to the widely followed post-divorce relationship between the Oscar-winning actors and their family.
