Police Probe Suspected Cult Killing After Man Found Dead Inside Car In Osogbo

The Osun State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the suspected cult-related killing of a 40-year-old man, whose lifeless body was discovered inside a vehicle in Osogbo, the state capital.

According to police sources, the incident was reported at about 12:15 a.m. on July 25, 2026, after the body of Abayomi David was found inside a Toyota Camry with Lagos registration number LND 468 HL along Alatori Road, Olude, Osogbo.

The sources disclosed that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the Dugbe Division immediately led a team of detectives to the scene following the report.

Upon arrival, officers reportedly found the vehicle’s engine still running. A search of the area led to the recovery of nine expended ammunition shells, suggesting the victim may have been shot at close range.
