Nigerian Army Warns Promotion Panel Against Compromise Ahead Of 2026 Exams

The Nigerian Army has warned members of its promotion examination panel to uphold integrity and professionalism during the 2026 Captain to Major Written Promotion Examination.

The directive was issued by Peter Malla, Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), during a briefing held at the Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport in Benin City.

Malla, who also serves as chairman of the examination panel, stressed that the process must remain fair, transparent, and free from compromise.

According to him, candidates will be assessed based on leadership qualities, critical thinking abilities, and readiness to tackle modern security challenges.

He instructed panel members to strictly follow the Nigerian Army Charter for Promotion Examinations 2022 (Revised) throughout the exercise.

The senior officer also expressed confidence that the examination would be conducted successfully and acknowledged the support of the Chief of Army Staff.

Earlier, the Commandant of the Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport, Adebayo Adegbite, assured that the institution was fully prepared to host the exercise.

He said necessary arrangements had been put in place to ensure a smooth and credible examination process.

The statement was signed by Felicia Daniel, Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, Training and Doctrine Command.

The promotion exercise is considered a key part of career advancement within the Nigerian Army and plays a major role in shaping future military leadership.
