VDM Reacts To Presidency’s Legal Threat Over Alleged Tinubu Audio

Social media critic VeryDarkMan, whose real name is Martins Vincent Otse, has responded to threats of legal action from the Presidency over the circulation of an alleged fake audio involving President Bola Tinubu.

The controversy followed the circulation of a reportedly doctored video online allegedly featuring fake audio linked to the President.

Reacting earlier, presidential aide Bayo Onanuga stated that VDM should face legal consequences over the matter.

“This VDM needs to face the weight of the law for being the conveyor and disseminator of a fake audio of President Tinubu,” Onanuga had written on X.

Responding in a video, VeryDarkMan said he was prepared for any legal battle that may arise from the issue.

“I will not defend the allegations. If I respond, let God punish me. I want to face that law,” he said.

The activist added that he was willing to return earlier than planned to address the matter personally.

“I will even book a flight to come earlier than I planned. I want to see what you people can do,” he stated.

VDM further insisted that criticising government actions remains a constitutional right under democracy.

“If you are pained that VDM is speaking, what option do I have other than to speak? It is my right to criticise the government when it is doing wrong. We are in a democracy,” he added.
