A video of the late Mary Habila dismissing false rumours about her dath just days before she was found dad has resurfaced online, drawing widespread reactions across social media.
The clip was shared by Anita Baaki, Habila’s colleague and close friend, who said Mary recorded the video after false reports claiming she had d*ed began circulating online.
Mary Habila, 26, was later found d*ad on June 27, 2026, inside a room in one of the buildings within the country home of the Minister of Works, David Umahi, in Uburu, Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
Authorities have since launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her d*ath, while the cause of the incident has not yet been officially established.
According to Anita Baaki, who is a physiotherapist from Benue State, the false rumours first surfaced on June 24, 2026, prompting Mary to record a video the following day to reassure family, friends and well-wishers that she was alive and well.
Anita later shared the video on Facebook on July 20, after Habila’s passing.
In the video, Mary explained that she had continued receiving calls and messages from people asking whether the reports about her d*ath were true.
She said:
“…So yeah, please, I still have calls coming in and messages coming in asking if that was true or something. I’m fine, I’m healthy. I really don’t know what was happening, and I don’t know what happened actually. But you can see I’m fine…”
The resurfaced video has since sparked emotional reactions online, with many describing the circumstances as heartbreaking.
Investigations into Habila’s d*ath are still ongoing, and authorities are yet to announce the outcome of the probe.
