Kwankwaso Speaks On Political Future, Confirms Ongoing Consultations Amid ADC Crisis

Former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso has said he is yet to take a final decision regarding his political future.

Kwankwaso, who is currently aligned with the African Democratic Congress, made this known in a statement shared on his X account.

He clarified that reports suggesting a concluded political realignment are inaccurate.

According to him, consultations are ongoing with leaders of the National Democratic Congress and the Peoples Redemption Party.

Kwankwaso said the internal situation within the ADC has become complicated due to recent legal developments.

He explained that a Supreme Court judgment affirmed the legitimacy of the David Mark-led National Working Committee but also returned parts of the case to the High Court.

He added that this has left the party in an uncertain position.

The former governor also noted that a separate ruling by the Federal High Court reportedly invalidated the party’s recent convention.

In addition, he mentioned that the Attorney General of the Federation has filed for the deregistration of the party.

Kwankwaso said the current challenges mirror past experiences that led to his exit from the New Nigeria People’s Party.

He maintained that no final decision has been made and that any move will be based on careful consultations.

The development signals possible political shifts ahead of the 2027 general elections, as key figures continue to explore new alliances.
