Bella Shmurda Did Not Lose $4 Million In Real Estate Scam, Viral Video Is From 2023

A viral social media claim alleging that Nigerian singer Bella Shmurda lost $4 million in a Lagos real estate scam has been confirmed to be false.

The claim began circulating after a social media user shared a video of the Afrobeats star appearing emotional during an Instagram Live session, alleging that he had been defrauded after purchasing a mansion from someone who was not the property’s rightful owner.

The caption accompanying the video claimed Bella Shmurda had spent $4 million on a house in Lagos, only to discover that the property allegedly belonged to someone else before the seller disappeared.

The post quickly gained traction online, sparking concern among fans.

However, information obtained by NaijaWide indicates that the claim is misleading.

According to a source familiar with the matter, the video being circulated is not recent and has no connection to any real estate transaction.

The source explained that the footage was originally recorded in 2023 during an Instagram Live session shortly after the death of singer Mohbad.

“This is fake news. We are not sure where the agenda came from. That video is from 2023,” the source said.

There is currently no verified evidence that Bella Shmurda lost money in any property deal or was involved in a $4 million real estate dispute.

As of the time of filing this report, the singer has not issued any public statement regarding the viral claim.

The incident serves as another reminder for social media users to verify viral content before sharing, as old videos are frequently recycled and presented out of context to spread misinformation.
