Nigerian music executive Soso Soberekon has responded to the controversy surrounding Davido’s absence from his star-studded wedding in Warri, Delta State, urging the public to ignore negativity and stressing that no one is authorised to speak on his behalf.
The entertainment promoter, who recently tied the knot with Princess Ebiere, became the subject of widespread discussion after fans noticed that Davido, a longtime friend and industry associate, did not attend the lavish ceremony.
The conversation intensified on social media after several users questioned why the award-winning singer neither attended the wedding nor publicly congratulated Soso following the event.
Media personality Ossai Ovie Success and former Big Brother Naija housemate DeeOne also weighed in on the issue, criticising Davido over his absence.
Reacting in a post shared on social media, Soso expressed appreciation to everyone who attended the ceremony and celebrated the occasion with him and his wife.
“My heart is overflowing with gratitude.”
He described the wedding as everything they had hoped for, saying it was filled with love, joy and unforgettable memories shared with family, friends and well-wishers.
Addressing the online debate, Soso urged people to disregard negative comments surrounding the ceremony and focus on celebrating love.
“Please ignore every negativity as we embrace love here.”
He also made it clear that no individual should claim to represent his views on the matter.
“Finally, let me say this clearly: No one speaks for me. I speak for myself.”
Soso’s statement comes amid continued speculation over Davido’s absence from the wedding, although the singer has not publicly addressed why he did not attend the event.
