A video showing the arrest of the self-acclaimed Director-General of the disputed Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, has surfaced online.
Adeyemi was arrested shortly after the Federal High Court in Abuja issued a bench warrant against him for failing to appear for his scheduled arraignment.
The viral footage shows police operatives questioning Adeyemi moments after taking him into custody.
Justice Mohammed Umar ordered his arrest after he failed to appear in court to answer an eight-count charge marked FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025, bordering on alleged forgery, fraud and impersonation.
Although the case appeared on the court’s cause list, Adeyemi was absent when it was called, despite his lawyer, Genesis Francis, announcing his appearance before the court.
Reacting to the development, African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate and human rights activist Omoyele Sowore described the arrest as “the biggest cover-up ever.”
In a post shared on his X account, Sowore alleged that the manner in which Adeyemi was arrested and treated suggested an attempt to conceal the truth rather than fully investigate the controversy.
He further argued that if authorities were genuinely committed to uncovering the facts surrounding the PFIPC scandal, they should also investigate President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.
Sowore additionally alleged that a man reportedly linked to the collection of an alleged ₦400 million bribe on behalf of the Chief of Staff had died under mysterious circumstances and claimed that the hotel where the alleged transaction took place had been demolished.
He also accused the Federal Government of obstructing justice in its handling of the matter.
