The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, has met with Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke as political preparations intensify ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Basiru disclosed this on Sunday, saying the meeting focused partly on efforts to secure Osun State for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
According to the APC National Secretary, Adeleke had promised to support efforts aimed at delivering the state for Tinubu.
Basiru said the meeting also provided an opportunity to congratulate Adeleke on his victory in the recent governorship election and appreciate the governor for attending the burial of his late mother.
“On a congratulatory visit to His Excellency, Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, on his victory at the polls, and to specially appreciate him for his visit during the burial of my late mother.
“We also discussed how to deliver Osun for Mr. President, as promised by Governor Ademola Adeleke, in the 2027 presidential election.”
The meeting comes shortly after Adeleke was returned as the winner of the August 15, 2026 Osun governorship election, defeating APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji.
Basiru’s visit highlights the political engagement taking place ahead of the 2027 presidential election, with the APC seeking to strengthen support for Tinubu across Osun State.
