Davido Joins Gov Adeleke at Osun Rally, Dances With Uncle on Stage

Afrobeats star Davido has joined his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, at a campaign rally as political activities intensify ahead of the state’s August 15 governorship election.

Davido arrived in Osun State on Thursday to continue supporting Adeleke’s bid for a second term in office.

A video from the campaign rally showed the singer making his way through a large crowd alongside the governor’s son, Sina Adeleke, popularly known as Shina Rambo.

The pair were later seen climbing over a barricade with assistance from supporters before reaching the campaign stage.

After getting on stage, Davido embraced his uncle as supporters cheered.

Governor Adeleke then showed off his familiar dance moves as Davido’s hit song “Feel,” from his Timeless album, played at the venue.

Davido subsequently joined the governor in dancing, drawing loud cheers from supporters gathered for the campaign.

Videos of the moment have since attracted attention online, becoming one of the highlights from the rally.

Davido has taken an increasingly prominent role in his uncle’s re-election campaign in recent months.

In May, the singer announced that he would temporarily step away from music activities for two months to concentrate on supporting Adeleke’s campaign.

He was subsequently appointed chairman of the Imole Youth Campaign Mobilisation Team, placing him at the forefront of efforts to mobilise young voters for the governor.

The singer has since participated in several grassroots campaign activities across Osun State, including engagements with commercial motorcycle and tricycle operators.

During an earlier campaign appearance, Davido publicly endorsed his uncle’s record in office and urged residents to support him for another term.

Adeleke, who became Osun State governor in 2022, is seeking re-election in the August 15 poll, with Davido’s appearances continuing to draw significant attention to his campaign, particularly among younger supporters.
