“Dem Don Reach Out” – Davido Says US Government Responded to His Osun Election Concerns

Afrobeats superstar Davido has claimed that the United States Government contacted him following concerns he raised over the forthcoming Osun State governorship election.

The singer, whose uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, is seeking re-election, had earlier appealed to United States President Donald Trump over what he described as concerns about possible violence, intimidation and disruption of the democratic process ahead of Saturday’s election.

Davido subsequently took to X to announce that he had received a response from the US Government.

“Dem don reach out ooooo. DEY PLAY! U think the rest of the world is undemocratic like Una! Una go see something,” he wrote.

The singer, however, did not disclose which US government official or agency allegedly contacted him.

He also did not provide details of the communication or indicate whether the US authorities had made any commitment concerning the Osun election.

Davido has become increasingly involved in the political activities surrounding his uncle’s re-election campaign, making appearances at rallies and publicly mobilising support for the governor.

His latest intervention comes amid heightened political tension ahead of the governorship election, with different political actors raising concerns about security and the conduct of the exercise.

Governor Adeleke has also publicly called on President Bola Tinubu and security agencies to ensure that the election is conducted in a free, fair and peaceful atmosphere.

Davido’s claim that the US Government reached out to him has since generated reactions on social media.
