Troops of Sector 8, Operation ENDURING PEACE, have foiled an attempted attack on Manja community in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The incident occurred on Saturday after security forces received information about the movement of armed men suspected of planning an attack on the community.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the troops quickly moved into the area after receiving the report, forcing the suspected attackers to retreat into nearby bushes with their cattle.
The troops later received another report at about 4:12 p.m. indicating that the suspected attackers were attempting to infiltrate Manja village.
Security personnel responded by launching a pursuit operation while maintaining a strong presence around the community to prevent further attacks.
Troops also conducted offensive patrols and clearance operations across the area as part of efforts to stop the suspected attackers from gaining access to the community.
Security sources said operations were continuing around Manja and neighbouring communities to maintain pressure on the suspected attackers and protect residents.
No casualty was reported in the account of the incident provided.
