VeryDarkMan Explains Why He Missed Peller and Jarvis’ Wedding, Alleges Fear of Arrest in Lagos

Social media critic Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has explained why he was absent from the traditional wedding of content creators Peller and Jarvis, claiming he currently faces powerful enemies in Lagos.

Speaking during a TikTok live session later shared on X, the activist said he deliberately stayed away from the ceremony because he feared he could be set up if he travelled to Lagos.

According to VDM, his relationship with the Lagos State Police Command has deteriorated, making it unsafe for him to attend public events in the state.

“Unfortunately, I could not go to Lagos because I have bigger enemies now in Lagos. The Lagos Police right now, we’re not friends. Immediately I go into Lagos, there’s a high chance that I might be set up, so that’s why I couldn’t go for Peller’s wedding.”

Despite missing the event, VeryDarkMan said he followed the ceremony online and praised the organisation of the wedding.

He also congratulated the newlyweds, expressing confidence in their future together.

“I got the asoebi. I streamed everything online. It was interesting and organised. I really love that boy, Peller. Their marriage is blessed, and the child they are also expecting is blessed as well. That boy has a very bright future in this country. He’s going to use his influence one day.”

His comments come days after he alleged that the Nigeria Police were attempting to intimidate him following an invitation from the Lagos State Police Command.

VDM claimed some senior police officers were trying to lure him to Lagos for arrest over evidence he said he possesses against them.

He added that rather than honour the invitation, he intends to take his complaints to the National Assembly, the Senate, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), and the Office of the National Security Adviser.
