Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has reached 300 goals in club football after scoring in Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Coventry City.
The Norwegian forward struck the decisive goal as Manchester City secured another win to maintain their position at the top of the Premier League table.
The milestone came in Haaland’s 384th club appearance, according to ESPN, putting him ahead of several of the game’s biggest names in terms of appearances needed to reach 300 goals.
Haaland’s 300 club goals have been scored during spells with Molde, Red Bull Salzburg, Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City.
The 26-year-old reached the landmark faster than Kylian Mbappe, who scored his 300th club goal in 398 appearances, and Cristiano Ronaldo, who needed 499 appearances to reach the same mark.
Only Lionel Messi reached 300 club goals faster among the players compared, doing so in 365 appearances.
Haaland could have added to his tally against Coventry but admitted afterwards that he was disappointed with his finishing.
“I should’ve scored more goals to finish the game off, but I didn’t. So, I made it difficult for the team and managed to keep Coventry in the game until the end.”
Despite his frustration over missed chances, Haaland’s goal proved decisive as City held on for another important Premier League victory.
The milestone further underlines the Norwegian’s remarkable scoring record since breaking into senior football, with his latest achievement placing him among the fastest players to reach 300 club goals in the modern era.
