The Ogun State Police Command has launched a manhunt for a man identified as Kola following an allegation of sexual assault involving a 17-year-old boy.
The victim’s parents reportedly lodged a formal complaint at the Adigbe Police Division on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, after the teenager allegedly told them he had been sexually assaulted.
According to the police, the teenager, who accompanied his parents to the station, alleged that Kola sexually assaulted him on three separate occasions in January 2026 and subsequently threatened him into keeping silent.
Following the complaint, police operatives took the teenager to a hospital within the Adigbe area for medical examination, while detectives began investigating the allegation.
The command’s spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the matter only came to the attention of the police after the victim’s parents formally reported it on Tuesday.
Babaseyi said the suspect is currently at large, prompting the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, to order detectives to intensify efforts to locate and arrest him.
“The allegation is receiving urgent, professional and sensitive investigation,” the spokesperson said.
The police urged anyone with useful information about Kola’s whereabouts to assist investigators while assuring the public that the command remains committed to protecting children and other vulnerable persons.
The allegation remains under investigation, and the suspect has not been arrested or given an opportunity to respond to the claim publicly.
