Ugandan Woman Seeks Help After US Husband Allegedly Abandons Her and Two Children

A Ugandan woman, Juliet Mbabazi, has appealed for assistance after alleging that her American husband, Travis Preston, left her and their two children in Uganda after returning to the United States.

Mbabazi, who is from Mbarara, said she and Preston were married for approximately two years and have two children, aged three and seven.

According to her account, Preston travelled back to the United States but later stopped providing financial support for the family. She said the situation has left her responsible for raising the children without the assistance she previously received from their father.

The case has attracted public attention following the intervention of Ugandan singer Bruno K, who has joined efforts to trace Preston and determine his current whereabouts.

Bruno K appealed to Ugandans living in the United States, particularly those with links to the US military, to assist in finding information about Preston. Some Ugandans serving in the US military have reportedly contacted the singer and offered to help with the search.

The musician has also called on the US Embassy in Kampala to assist in determining whether Mbabazi’s children could qualify for US citizenship or receive any other form of assistance through their alleged American father.

Meanwhile, Mbabazi has been advised to seek legal representation and contact the appropriate authorities so that the matter can be addressed through established legal channels.

In addition to efforts to locate Preston, Bruno K announced plans to raise funds to support Mbabazi and her children. The proposed assistance is expected to help the family meet immediate needs, including food, education and other essential expenses.

The circumstances surrounding Preston’s departure and the family’s claims have not been independently established, and any legal or citizenship-related questions would need to be determined by the relevant authorities.
