Toluwanisings: Family Confirms Death of Nigerian Gospel Singer at 2026

The family of Nigerian gospel singer Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings, has confirmed his death, announcing that the minister passed away in the early hours of Wednesday, October 14, 2026.

The announcement was shared on the singer’s TikTok account, where the family expressed grief over the loss and appealed to the public to remember his wife and loved ones in their prayers.

“With deep sorrow, the family announces the passing of Minister Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, Toluwani Gospel Music Ministry (TOGOMM), who passed away in the early hours of 14 October 2026,” the statement read.

The family described him as a dearly loved husband, family member and gospel minister.

“Please keep his wife, family, and loved ones in your prayers during this difficult time,” the statement added.

The family said details of his funeral arrangements would be announced in due course. It did not disclose the cause of his death.

News of the singer’s passing has triggered an outpouring of grief on social media, with fans, colleagues and other public figures expressing shock over the loss.

Pelumi Olajengbesi, convener of the Coalition of Public Interest Lawyers and Advocates (COPA), expressed distress over the development in an Instagram post accompanying a photograph of the singer.

“My God! What a life! No, Lord! We plead for Your mercy upon Toluwanisings,” he wrote.

Olajengbesi also lamented the deaths of young Nigerians, adding, “I am deeply troubled by the deaths of young men and women. This is not God’s plan for us.”

He concluded his message by calling for an end to untimely deaths.

An X user, Ennybets, also shared an account of what he said happened at a hospital where the singer was brought in.

According to him, he had taken his wife to the hospital for antenatal care when a vehicle arrived carrying the gospel minister.

“Brought my wife to the hospital for antenatal, and some car rushed in here bringing a popular gospel man,” he wrote in his initial post, adding that he saw members of the singer’s circle crying as they waited for news.

In a subsequent post, Ennybets expressed sadness over the singer’s death, describing the reaction of members of his band as particularly distressing.

“I cried about this man’s passing. The fact that I was seeing over 10 grown men who are his band members, crying heavily in front of me is giving me trauma,” he wrote.

Gospel artiste Mega99 also paid tribute to the late singer, describing him as an exceptional talent whose voice stood out.

“A rare gem with a unique voice is gone. This life,” Mega99 wrote.

Toluwanisings was known to his followers as a gospel minister, and news of his death has prompted tributes from those mourning his loss.

As of the time of this report, the cause of death had not been made public. The family is expected to provide further information about the funeral arrangements in due course.
