Pastor Bolaji John, a minister at Harvesters International Christian Centre (HICC), has died, prompting an outpouring of tributes from church members and people who knew her.
News of her death emerged on Saturday, October 31, 2026, through a memorial page created in her honour. However, details surrounding the circumstances of her death had not been made public as of the time of reporting.
Pastor Bolaji John served as a campus pastor at the church’s Lekki branch, where she ministered to members and helped teach the Christian faith.
Following the announcement, several people took to social media to remember her and share their experiences of her ministry.
One church member, who uses the X handle @nanya_sapphire, described attending Sunday’s service after learning of the pastor’s death and recalled noticing a change in the appearance of the church’s Senior Pastor, Bolaji Idowu.
In her post, she said Idowu appeared visibly distressed while preaching, although she initially assumed his appearance was connected to his prayer and fasting routine.
She also recalled that the sermon, which focused on prophecy and remaining faithful to God, seemed different to her in retrospect.
The church member expressed sadness over the loss, describing Bolaji John as her pastor and praising her approach to explaining biblical scriptures.
She wrote:
“Now we know. She was my Pastor, I enjoyed her way of explaining scriptures. The memory of the righteous is blessed. Pastor Bolaji John.”
Other tributes have continued to emerge online as members remember her contributions to the church and the people she served.
As of the time of this report, Harvesters International Christian Centre had not publicly disclosed further details about her death.
