Ibadan Street Fight: Amateur Boxer KBlaq Stabbed to Death at Olodo Garage

An amateur boxer identified as Kehinde, popularly known as KBlaq, has died after he was allegedly stabbed in the neck during a street confrontation at Olodo Garage in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday, November 1, sparking outrage among residents and social media users who have called for justice for the deceased.

According to accounts circulating online, Kehinde was not initially involved in the fight that preceded the stabbing. The suspect was alleged to have arrived after the confrontation had ended and attacked him with a broken bottle.

The weapon reportedly struck him in the neck, leaving him with injuries that eventually proved fatal.

The circumstances surrounding the confrontation and what led to the fatal attack have not been fully established.

Several social media users expressed shock over the killing, with some claiming that the deceased had not participated in the initial altercation.

An X user, @MVKAY2, alleged that the person who stabbed Kehinde was not among those involved in the earlier fight.

The user wrote that the confrontation had already ended before the suspect allegedly approached and attacked the boxer.

Another user, @omononaolapo, also claimed that the alleged attacker was not part of the original fight.

A third user, @Tunde, who described Kehinde as his brother, expressed grief over his death and raised concerns about the conduct of some commercial motorcycle operators in the area.

Similarly, @Fela said the deceased was a friend of his younger brother and recalled being shocked when he learnt about the killing.

Another user, @Pelumifundz, described Kehinde as the younger brother of a friend, saying he was known as a gentle person who rarely got into trouble.

The user also called for justice, while expressing condolences to his family and loved ones.

Confirming the incident on Monday, the spokesperson for the Oyo State Police Command, Olayinka Ayanlade, told PUNCH Metro that an investigation was ongoing.

However, the police had yet to publicly provide further details about the circumstances of the killing, the identity of the suspected attacker or whether anyone had been arrested.

The incident has renewed concerns about street violence and the use of dangerous weapons during confrontations, as calls continue for the authorities to establish what happened and bring anyone found responsible to justice.
