Lagos – Nollywood actress and producer Uche Ogbodo is currently making headlines following reports of a major crisis in her marriage to husband Bobby Maris. The couple’s relationship appears to have broken down, with public accusations, unfollows on social media, and leaked audio dominating online conversations.
Uche Ogbodo, who tied the knot with Maris in 2023, first sparked speculation when fans noticed the pair had unfollowed each other on Instagram. The actress then shared cryptic posts about surviving a narcissist, further fuelling rumours of trouble in the union.
In a leaked voice note making the rounds, Ogbodo is heard confronting her husband over his alleged failure to provide financially. She reportedly accused him of not working and leaving her to shoulder the responsibility of feeding the family. Her sister, Sochima, joined the conversation publicly, describing Bobby as lazy and claiming he would sleep all week without making efforts to contribute.
Sochima allegedly stated that Bobby failed to provide physically, financially, emotionally, or in any meaningful way, and would provoke Uche only to record her reactions. She concluded that Uche was done with the marriage and advised Bobby to move on.
Media personality Radio Gad weighed in on the saga, suggesting he had predicted the marriage would not last after Uche’s body enhancements. “I knew she would throw you out after her BBL and teeth whitening,” he reportedly commented.
Uche Ogbodo, born on May 17, 1986, in Enugu State, rose to fame in 2006 with her debut movie Another Bondage. She has featured in several films including Four Sisters, Players, Your Holiness, and Royal Palace. The actress is also a producer, red carpet host, entrepreneur, and founder of the Uche Ogbodo Foundation, which focuses on women and girl-child empowerment.
This is reportedly her second marriage. She was previously married to Apo Arthur. She has been open about undergoing cosmetic procedures, including a BBL and liposuction, which she has documented on social media.
The ongoing public drama has divided netizens, with some sympathising with the actress while others question the decision to air marital issues online.
