Social media activist Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has opened up about his reported fallout with music star Davido, claiming it began after he rejected an offer linked to a political campaign in Osun State.
Speaking in a viral video circulating online, VDM alleged that Davido and members of his team approached him to support the political interests of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, who is Davido’s uncle.
According to him, he was offered N50 million to participate in the campaign but declined the proposal.
“Davido and his crew offered me money when they called me to come and meet the governor. They said I would collect N50 million. A lot of people would be happy to collect that kind of money, but I rejected it,” he said in Pidgin English.
VDM claimed that the incident contributed to the breakdown of his relationship with the singer, although he did not provide further details.
He also disclosed that one of his last conversations with Davido was over a promise the singer allegedly made to a young man in Ghana.
According to VDM, he reached out to Davido through a direct message after social media users began accusing him of using the issue for publicity.
“The last time we talked was about the boy Davido promised $5,000 in Ghana. People were insulting me because they thought we used it for clout. I messaged him and reminded him about it, and after that they paid the boy,” he said.
Davido has not publicly responded to the claims as of the time of filing this report.
