Popular comedian and content creator Sydney Talker has revealed that he is about to complete four years of celibacy, saying the decision was a deliberate sacrifice to help him focus on building his career.
In a video shared on his Instagram page, the skit maker disclosed that July 27 will officially mark four years since he last shared a bed with a woman.
According to him, the journey has not been easy, but he believes it has played a significant role in his personal growth and professional development.
“On the 27th of this month, it will make it four years of celibacy for me. Technically, what I’m trying to say is that I have not slept on the same bed with a woman for the past four years.
“It’s not been easy, but I thank God. In these past four years, I have studied my industry. I took out time, stayed away from emotional activities and found solutions that would really help us as content creators,” he said.
Sydney Talker explained that distancing himself from romantic relationships gave him the discipline and mental focus to better understand the content creation industry and invest more time in developing ideas that could benefit both himself and fellow creators.
His revelation has since sparked mixed reactions on social media. While some users praised his discipline and commitment to self-improvement, others questioned whether his decision was solely motivated by career growth.
