The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has urged eligible Nigerians to complete their voter registration before the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise closes on Sunday, July 26, 2026.
The commission made the appeal in a public notice shared on its official X account on Saturday, encouraging prospective voters not to wait until the last minute to register.
“Your future won’t wait. Neither should you. The Continuous Voter Registration exercise ends Sunday, 26 July 2026,” the commission said.
INEC advised eligible Nigerians to complete the registration process through its online CVR portal or visit any designated registration centre for physical assistance.
The electoral body also stated that those who require help can visit any of its state offices, local government area offices, or other approved registration centres nationwide to complete their registration.
According to the commission, all registration centres will continue to operate daily, including weekends, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. until the exercise officially ends.
“You can complete your voter registration online from start to finish via the CVR portal. If you need assistance, visit any INEC State Office, LGA Office, or designated registration centre to complete your registration in person,” the commission added.
The Continuous Voter Registration exercise forms part of INEC’s preparations for the 2027 general elections, providing an opportunity for eligible Nigerians to register as new voters, while also allowing existing registered voters to update or transfer their registration details before the electoral process begins.
