Corps Member’s Mother Kidnapped on Bus in Kabba, Kogi State

A corps member has taken to X (formerly Twitter) to share his anguish after his mother was reportedly kidnapped while traveling by road from Kogi State to Abuja.

The victim was on a commercial bus passing through the Kabba area when armed men allegedly struck, abducting passengers. The son, identified as @dope_demonxx, said the last contact with his mother was when she confirmed she had reached the Kabba axis, after which communication went silent.

Disturbing videos of the incident were shared online by @abujastreets, showing passengers being abducted in broad daylight. The post lamented the growing insecurity in the region:

“Apparently everyone on this bus was kidnapped earlier today in Kabba, Kogi state. Broad daylight bro… We are tired!!!”

Ransom negotiations are reportedly underway, with the kidnappers demanding varying sums from the victims’ families. The son revealed:

“The issue still stands on 60 million. We’re trying to negotiate with them, but the number they provided is off for now till evening before we try it again. They call each family that was kidnapped randomly with different amounts. Many children are with them 💔.”

His posts have sparked an outpouring of support online, with netizens praying for the safe return of his mother and the other victims. Many also called for urgent intervention by security agencies to curb the rising spate of kidnappings in Kogi and surrounding areas.
