Sarah Martins Clarifies Viral Dispatch Rider Date, Says It Was Never a Relationship

Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has addressed the controversy surrounding her recent viral outing with a dispatch rider, which sparked heated reactions across social media.

The drama began after Sarah shared screenshots of chats from the rider, where he openly expressed romantic interest in her. At some point, it was also suggested online that her rejection of his advances led to him losing his job — a claim that quickly fueled public backlash, with many accusing the actress of being insensitive.

In response to the outrage, Sarah later surprised many by taking the rider out on a date. The outing included shopping and a luxury lunch, which she said was simply a kind gesture meant to uplift his spirits, not a sign of romantic acceptance.

Despite her clarification at the time, rumors soon spread that she had accepted his proposal and agreed to date him.

Sarah has now firmly set the record straight.

According to her, the gesture was purely an act of compassion and humanity, not romance. She stressed that she never agreed to date the rider and remains single.

“Let it be known that I didn’t say yes to a dispatch rider. I only extended my hand in love for humanity to remind him that he’s worthy of love.
I am not the type that dates low, and I can’t fix any man to fit into my standards.
I am single and currently not searching. I only extended love, I didn’t say yes.
A man can only earn respect, submission, and loyalty when he’s a provider.”

She also debunked claims that the rider lost his job because of her, explaining that he was not sacked but only cautioned at work.
