Tinubu Approves Salary Increase for Nigerian Military Personnel

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a salary increment for members of the Nigerian Armed Forces, assuring that the welfare of military personnel will remain a top priority for his administration.

The President made the announcement during an interfaith breaking of fast with Service Chiefs held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Welfare of Soldiers a Priority

Speaking at the event, Tinubu said the government recognises the sacrifices made by soldiers who continue to defend the country despite difficult conditions.

He noted that many personnel spend long periods away from their families while confronting terrorism, banditry, and other security threats across the country.

He added that the nation appreciates the commitment of the Armed Forces to protecting Nigeria’s sovereignty.

Improved Pay, Accommodation, and Support

Tinubu assured the Service Chiefs that his administration will address key challenges facing military personnel, including salaries, housing, and support for their families.

According to him, the government will continue to take decisions that improve the living conditions of officers and soldiers.

“Your welfare, accommodation, and many other opportunities that should be extended to your families will take first priority in our decisions,” he stated.
