“Nigeria Has A Huge Future Ahead” — Remi Tinubu Speaks On Expensive Flights, Rail Projects And Nation’s Future

Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has expressed confidence in the country’s future, assuring Nigerians that ongoing infrastructure investments and transportation projects will deliver lasting benefits in the years ahead.

Speaking in a video that has gained attention online, the First Lady acknowledged concerns over the rising cost of air travel but stressed that the issue is not unique to Nigeria.

According to her, flight fares have increased globally, including in countries such as the United States, making it necessary for governments to invest in alternative transportation systems.

Mrs. Tinubu noted that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is focused on expanding transportation infrastructure through rail networks and coastal transport routes.

“Nigeria is such a great country and now you can see airports emerging, so I know you will say, ‘Oh, the flights are so expensive,’” she said.

She explained that expensive air travel is a global challenge rather than a problem exclusive to Nigeria.

“Everywhere in the world, even in America, flights are expensive. And that’s why Mr President is doing the coastal routes, not only coastal routes, even trying to have rail lines,” she added.

Government Continuing Rail Development

The First Lady stated that while some railway projects were initiated by previous administrations, the current government remains committed to completing and expanding them.

According to her, continuity in infrastructure development is essential for national growth and economic transformation.

“And so I know the previous administration started the rail line and, you know, we continue. We continue building,” she said.

Nigeria Has A Huge Future Ahead

Expressing optimism about the country’s direction, Mrs. Tinubu said ongoing investments in infrastructure and development would eventually benefit citizens across the country.

She maintained that Nigeria’s long-term prospects remain strong despite current challenges.

“Nigeria has a huge future ahead of it and by the grace of God, very soon we all will be beneficiaries of the success of what Nigeria will become,” she stated.

The First Lady’s comments come amid continuing public discussions about transportation costs, economic challenges and infrastructure development across the country.

While some Nigerians have welcomed the focus on rail and alternative transport systems, others continue to express concerns about the rising cost of living and transportation expenses.

Her remarks have since sparked conversations online about the government’s ongoing infrastructure projects and the expected impact on citizens in the coming years.
