VeryDarkMan Claims EFCC Invitation Is Attempt To Silence Critics

Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has reacted to reports that he has been invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) following a petition seeking an investigation into his financial activities.

The invitation reportedly followed a petition submitted by legal practitioner Blessing Agbomhere of Blessing Agbomhere & Partners, which called for a comprehensive probe into the funding sources, sponsorship arrangements and financial dealings of both VeryDarkMan and activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju.

Reacting via his social media page, VeryDarkMan described the move as an attempt to intimidate and silence individuals who speak out against the government.

According to him, the petition is politically motivated and designed to suppress criticism of the current administration.

“They want to stop us from speaking against this government that has failed to protect the lives of Nigerians. So, they used their people to write petitions,” he wrote.

The activist further alleged that individuals linked to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) were behind the petition and were using legal channels to target voices critical of government policies and security challenges facing the country.

The development comes amid VeryDarkMan’s recent campaigns and public demonstrations calling for stronger action against insecurity, kidnapping and banditry across Nigeria.

Neither the EFCC nor the petitioners had publicly responded to the activist’s allegations at the time of filing this report.
