The Labour Party has welcomed a recent ruling by the Court of Appeal in Owerri, describing the judgment as a significant affirmation of the authority of its recognized national leadership under Senator Nenadi Usman to initiate and manage legal matters on behalf of the party.
The party made its position known in a statement issued on Monday by its National Publicity Secretary, Ken Asogwa, following the judgment delivered on July 2, 2026, in Appeal No. CA/OW/104/2026 involving the Labour Party and other parties against the Abia State Independent Electoral Commission and others.
According to the statement, the appeal arose from a pre-election dispute that had earlier been heard at the Federal High Court.
