Tolu Arokodare Sparks Wolves Training Crisis as Session Is Cancelled Amid Exit Speculation

Wolverhampton Wanderers’ pre-season preparations were thrown into turmoil after a training session was reportedly cancelled following an incident involving Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare.

According to reports from Mirror UK, the disruption occurred on Monday, July 21, when Arokodare allegedly refused to leave the training pitch, forcing the Championship club to call off the session.

The report added that additional security personnel were stationed at the club’s training facility the following day to prevent the 25-year-old from returning while the situation was being addressed.

The incident comes during the early days of new manager César Peixoto’s tenure. The Portuguese coach recently took charge of the club after replacing Rob Edwards, who was dismissed following Wolves’ relegation from the Premier League after finishing at the bottom of the table last season.

Arokodare endured a difficult campaign, scoring six goals in 38 appearances across all competitions. His performances have led to growing speculation over his future, with the club reportedly prepared to part ways with the Nigerian forward during the current transfer window.

The striker has attracted interest from Italian Serie A side Fiorentina and Turkish club Trabzonspor, with reports suggesting he is keen on a move to Italy ahead of the new season.

Wolves signed Arokodare for a reported fee of around £24 million last summer. However, he managed just three Premier League goals in 33 league appearances, and the club is now believed to have excluded him from its plans for the upcoming Championship campaign.

Despite the off-field distraction, Wolves are scheduled to make their first public appearance under Peixoto when they take on Maidenhead United in a pre-season friendly on Wednesday as preparations continue for life in the Championship.
