Arsenal have announced that Marli Salmon has signed his first professional contract with the club, marking a major milestone in the teenager’s development.
The Gunners confirmed the deal on Saturday ahead of their Premier League meeting with Aston Villa on Monday night.
Salmon signed his first senior contract on his 17th birthday, officially beginning his professional career after seven years in Arsenal’s academy.
“It means a lot to me. A lot of hard work went into this, a lot of ups and downs, but I am so proud,” Salmon said.
Arsenal congratulated the youngster on reaching the milestone and wished him well for the upcoming season.
The club’s academy has continued to provide a pathway for young players to progress into professional football, with Salmon now taking the next step in his development.
Arsenal will face Aston Villa at Villa Park on Monday as they look to maintain their strong start to the new Premier League campaign.
