Adeleke Orders 24-Hour Security Alert, Approves Joint Task Force in Osun

State Governor Ademola Adeleke has directed security agencies across the state to maintain a 24-hour security alert and approved the establishment of a Joint Security Task Force to strengthen the response to emerging threats.

Adeleke announced the measures after a meeting of the Osun State Security Council, chaired by his deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi, to review recent security alerts and the state’s preparedness to respond to possible threats.

The governor said the new Joint Security Task Force would improve coordination, intelligence sharing and rapid response among security agencies operating in the state.

He also assured the security agencies of his administration’s support, saying the government would provide the logistics and other resources required for the task force to commence operations.

As part of the heightened security measures, Adeleke directed security agencies to pay particular attention to churches, mosques, schools and other public places.

The governor also called on residents to remain vigilant and provide security agencies with credible information that could help prevent threats or respond quickly to suspicious activities.

“Security is a collective responsibility, and timely information can save lives,” Adeleke said.

The governor said his administration would continue to work with security agencies, traditional rulers and community leaders to protect lives and property across Osun State.

The measures come as authorities across parts of Nigeria continue to review security arrangements following recent alerts about possible threats to public places, schools and other vulnerable locations.
