Nollywood actress and African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate in Abia State, Doris Ogala, has reportedly been hospitalised after losing consciousness and experiencing bleeding while in detention.
According to a report by SaharaReporters, a source close to the actress raised concerns about her condition in a video, saying he had spoken with her by phone while she was receiving medical attention at a hospital.
The source claimed Ogala told him that she had lost consciousness, was bleeding and could not remember when she was taken to the hospital.
In the video, the actress was also reportedly heard confirming that she was receiving medical attention and expressing concern about the bleeding, particularly because of complications she said were connected to a previous operation.
The account has raised questions about Ogala’s health and access to medical care while in custody. However, details surrounding the reported incident, including when she was taken to the hospital and the nature of her medical condition, have not been independently established.
Ogala was reportedly remanded in custody over allegations of cyberstalking, cyberbullying and attempted extortioninvolving Pastor Chris Okafor, the founder of Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry.
The actress has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Further details about her current condition, the hospital where she is receiving treatment and the circumstances surrounding her reported hospitalisation were not available in the report.
There has also been no confirmed official statement from the relevant authorities on the reported health emergency.
