Armed bandits have released a disturbing video showing an abducted couple and their baby daughter in captivity in Kaduna State, as they reportedly demand a ₦300 million ransom for the family’s release.
The victims were reportedly kidnapped on Monday, October 5, 2026, when gunmen invaded Alrahus Estate in Millennium City, within Chikun Local Government Area of the state. A pregnant woman was also said to have been abducted during the attack.
In the footage circulating online, the abducted man, identified as Ahmad Abubakar Zakka, appeals to Nigerians to help secure the release of his family.
Zakka is seen seated beside his wife, who is holding their young daughter, while an armed kidnapper points what appears to be an AK-47 rifle at his head and threatens him.
The man appears distressed, with one of his hands held in a position that seems to restrict his movement. His right hand also appears swollen in the footage. His wife looks visibly shaken as the family appeals for assistance.
Introducing himself in the video, Zakka said he had been taken away on Monday and called on members of the public to intervene.
“My name is Ahmad Abubakar Zakka. I am seeking help from God, and I am asking you to come to our aid. I was taken away on Monday,” he said.
He subsequently disclosed the alleged ransom demand, pleading with Nigerians to help the family regain their freedom.
“Please, I am pleading for help. Please help me, help me. They are demanding a ransom of N300 million. Please come to our aid and help us,” Zakka said.
The video has renewed concerns over the safety of residents in Kaduna State, where armed attacks and kidnappings have remained a major security concern.
However, the reported ransom demand and the circumstances surrounding the abduction could not be independently verified from the information available. Further details about efforts by security agencies to rescue the victims were also not provided in the report.
The family’s whereabouts and condition remain unclear beyond what is shown in the footage.
