President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja on Thursday for Makkah, Saudi Arabia, to perform Umrah, an Islamic pilgrimage that involves visiting the holy city for religious devotion.
Presidential media aide, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed the trip in a statement, explaining that the visit would provide Tinubu with an opportunity for spiritual reflection and prayers for Nigeria’s peace, unity, stability and continued development.
During his stay in Makkah, the President is expected to observe the religious rites associated with Umrah and seek Allah’s guidance and blessings for Nigeria and its citizens.
Before leaving the country, Tinubu will commission newly acquired Nigerian Air Force equipment at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja. The equipment is expected to support the Air Force’s operational activities.
The President is expected to return to Nigeria next week after completing the religious exercise in Saudi Arabia.
