Activist and social commentator Justice Chidiebere, popularly known as JusticeCrack, has alleged that officials of the Defence Intelligence Agency, DIA, abducted him while pretending to be operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS.
JusticeCrack made the allegation in a post shared on X on Tuesday, where he detailed his experience during detention.
According to him, he was subjected to harsh and inhumane conditions for three days after being taken into custody.
“I was abducted by the DIA, who disguised themselves as DSS officers when they came to arrest me,” he wrote.
The activist alleged that he was blindfolded and handcuffed throughout the period, kept under intense sunlight during the day and locked in an extremely cold room at night.
“After three days of inhumane treatment, it is important for me to state that I was blindfolded and handcuffed throughout those three days. During the day, I was kept under the scorching sun, and at night, I was locked in a freezing cold room,” he stated.
JusticeCrack further claimed that public pressure and reactions from Nigerians demanding information about his whereabouts prevented him from disappearing without trace.
“It was only after Nigerians started speaking out and demanding answers that they eventually took me to the DSS. Their intention was to make me disappear,” he alleged.
He added that because the matter is currently before the court, he could not disclose every detail publicly at the moment.
We reports that the activist was declared missing in late April 2026 after reportedly dropping his child off at school in Abuja.
Following widespread concerns and allegations of enforced disappearance, the Nigerian Army later confirmed on May 2 that he was in military custody.
According to the military, JusticeCrack was arrested over viral videos and social media posts allegedly showing frontline soldiers complaining about poor feeding and welfare conditions.
Authorities described the content as acts bordering on subversion and incitement of military personnel.
He was later transferred to civil authorities and subsequently arraigned by the DSS before the Federal High Court in Abuja on charges related to cybercrime and conduct likely to breach public peace.
JusticeCrack was granted ₦5 million bail on May 18, 2026, by Justice Joyce Abdulmalik after initially being remanded in DSS custody.
