Terry G Defends Burna Boy After Viral Sleeping Fan Incident

Nigerian singer Terry G has come to the defense of Burna Boy following a viral incident in which the afrobeats superstar sent out fans who were caught sleeping during his concert.

The incident sparked criticism online, with some fans boycotting Burna Boy’s shows. However, Terry G questioned the fairness of holding the artist accountable for fans falling asleep at a live performance.

Fans Should Be Engaged, Not Sleeping

Reacting to the viral clip, Terry G argued that people attending a concert should remain engaged and attentive, noting that similar behavior would not be tolerated in a religious setting.

He stated:

“Una too like to dey hold people accountable just because say dey don be public figure.
If it happened in a church and someone was found sleeping, would the pastors not ask the ushers to wake them up? Because he’s musician, you are going to his show to sleep, so the camera can capture that moment and spoil his show.”

Terry G believes moments like these are often captured by cameras and used to discredit performers unfairly, and he emphasized that being a public figure does not mean an artist should ignore inattentive fans.

Public Reaction

The comments sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some agreeing that concertgoers should respect the performer’s efforts, while others argued that public figures should expect scrutiny in every action.

With Terry G’s defense, the discussion highlights the pressures artists face when performing live and the fine line between audience engagement and entertainment expectations.
