Nigerian Man Claims He Lost New Job After Telling Employer He No Longer Believes In Christianity

A Nigerian man has sparked widespread debate on social media after claiming he lost a newly secured job because he declined to lead the company’s morning prayer.

The man shared his experience in a video posted on TikTok, alleging that his employment was terminated just a day after he resumed work.

According to him, as the newest employee in the company, he was asked to lead the opening prayer during the morning routine.

He said he politely declined the request, explaining that he no longer identifies as a Christian after deconstructing from the faith.

“I told them, no, I can’t, because I had already deconstructed from Christianity, and I don’t believe in all that,” he said.

The man claimed his response was met with uncomfortable stares from some of his colleagues, although he initially thought nothing of the incident.

However, he alleged that when he returned to work the following day, he was instructed to check his email.

According to him, he then discovered a message informing him that his employment had been terminated.

Expressing disappointment over the development, he questioned whether such treatment reflected the values of Christianity.

“I’ve been sad because I don’t understand. Is that even Christ-like behavior?

“Even if I had wanted to go back into Christianity, with this attitude, do they think one will? It’s actually crazy. I have the degree and skills and am honestly fed up,” he said.

The company involved has not publicly responded to the allegation, and the circumstances surrounding the reported termination have not been independently verified.

The video has since gone viral, triggering mixed reactions online.

While some social media users argued that religious beliefs should never influence employment decisions, others suggested there could be more to the incident than what was presented in the viral video.
