The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination results of underage candidates for viewing.
JAMB defines an underage candidate as any applicant who will be below 16 years old by September 30, 2026.
Candidates can check their results through SMS using the same phone number they used during their UTME registration.
How to check your JAMB underage UTME result
- Use the phone number you registered with for the 2026 UTME.
- Open your phone’s SMS application and type “RESULT”.
- Send the message to 55019 or 66019.
- Your UTME result will be sent to you through SMS shortly after.
JAMB has also clarified that viewing the result does not automatically qualify an underage candidate for admissioninto a tertiary institution.
The board said the result can only be used for admission by candidates who meet the requirements for exceptional admission.
One of the key requirements is a minimum UTME score of 320, alongside at least 80 per cent in relevant Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination subjects, where applicable.
Candidates must also meet the Post-UTME requirements of their chosen institutions and pass the required assessment and verification process.
JAMB warned candidates who do not meet the conditions against presenting their UTME results to institutions or individuals in an attempt to secure admission outside the approved process.
The board stressed that obtaining a UTME result does not guarantee admission, particularly for candidates who have not reached the prescribed admission age.
