Nigerian dancer and entertainer Iweh Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, has spoken publicly about his recent ordeal in the United Kingdom, saying he remained confident throughout because he knew he had not committed the offences alleged against him.
Poco Lee spoke during a video conversation with social commentator VeryDarkMan, who shared the discussion on Instagram on Sunday.
Reflecting on the period, the entertainer said his biggest concerns were not the allegations against him but the impact his situation could have on his associates and business activities.
He mentioned Rahman Jago as one of the people whose business activities could have been affected while he was dealing with the situation.
“I was just being myself; God sees my heart. My only worries were about my people: Jago could not do anything business-wise; I didn’t want to stress anyone.”
Poco Lee said he would have viewed the situation differently if he believed he had committed the alleged offences.
“If I were inside there and I did what I was accused of, I would have felt I was paying for my sins, but since I knew I didn’t do what I was accused of, my mind is pure.”
He also acknowledged the people who stood by him during the difficult period, specifically mentioning Burna Boy, Jago and other associates.
“Nobody would have wanted to associate themselves with something like that, but Burna Boy stood by me, Jago, and some of my other guys.”
VeryDarkMan, who also spoke during the conversation, expressed his support for Poco Lee and questioned aspects of the reports surrounding the entertainer’s situation in the UK.
He particularly acknowledged the support Poco Lee received from Burna Boy and Rahman Jago.
Poco Lee’s comments come amid continuing uncertainty online over the status of the criminal proceedings against him.
Reports circulating in recent days had claimed that the dancer had been released from prison, while other claims suggested that the complainant had withdrawn the case or that the matter had been resolved outside court.
However, the UK Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has confirmed that the case remains active.
In response to an inquiry by PUNCH Online, the CPS Press Office said:
“This case is still live, and Odinaka is still set to appear for a PTPH at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 15 September 2026.”
A Plea and Trial Preparation Hearing (PTPH) is a pre-trial hearing at which issues relating to the defendant’s plea and preparation for a possible trial are considered.
The CPS did not clarify whether Poco Lee is currently in custody or has been granted bail.
Poco Lee is facing five sexual offence charges, comprising one count of attempted rape, two counts of rape and two counts of assault by penetration.
The case reportedly followed his visit to the UK for the Davido and Friends concert at Crystal Palace Bowl in London on August 14.
Snaresbrook Crown Court previously listed the case for a PTPH on September 15, 2026. A reporting restriction is also in place to protect the identity of the complainant under Section 1 of the Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act 1992.
Poco Lee has denied the allegations against him. His latest comments represent his account of the matter, but the charges remain before the court and have not been determined.
He has not been convicted of any offence.
