Spyro Explains Why He Doesn’t Support Leaving Money for Children After Death

Nigerian singer Spyro has shared his views on wealth and inheritance, explaining why he does not support the idea of leaving money behind for children after one’s death.

The singer made the comment while discussing his perspective on money, success and the lessons he has drawn from his own journey.

According to Spyro, leaving a large amount of money for children does not necessarily guarantee that the wealth will be used responsibly after the parent’s death.

“I’m not part of the school of thought of leaving money down for children at the end of the day because after I’m gone, I don’t know what you’re doing with it,” he said.

Spyro questioned the certainty of what happens to accumulated wealth after the person who built it is no longer around to oversee it.

His comments reflect his broader views on financial success and personal responsibility, particularly the importance of understanding how wealth is acquired and managed.

The singer also spoke about the financial demands of his music career, revealing that he has spent significant amounts on his music projects. He reportedly said he had spent as much as ₦100 million on some songs, while his most expensive music video cost about ₦50 million.

Spyro has also frequently spoken about his Christian faith and the role he believes it has played in his career and personal journey.

His latest comments have generated discussion online, particularly around the question of whether parents should leave substantial wealth for their children or focus more on equipping them with the values and abilities needed to build their own financial future.

Spyro’s statement, however, represents his personal view on inheritance and does not amount to a detailed announcement about how he intends to distribute his own estate.
