Prophet’s Wife Seeks Help After Reported Arrest Over Claims About Toluwanisings’ Death

A TikTok cleric, Woli Arugbo Ojo, has reportedly been arrested in Ibadan, Oyo State, following controversial claims he made about the death of gospel singer Toluwanisings, including a prediction that the singer would return to life.

The reported arrest allegedly took place on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, after a complaint was reportedly lodged by the late singer’s personal assistant over statements linking him to the circumstances surrounding the death.

Following the development, the prophet’s wife has appealed to Nigerians in the country and abroad to help establish her husband’s whereabouts, claiming she has been unable to determine where he is being held.

In a video shared on the cleric’s TikTok account on Wednesday, the woman alleged that her husband was taken away after the singer’s personal assistant filed a complaint against him.

She appealed for public intervention, insisting that the prophet made his controversial statements because he believed he was acting on divine instructions.

The reported arrest followed comments Woli Arugbo Ojo allegedly made about Toluwanisings’ death, particularly his claim that the late singer would rise from the dead.

Reports also indicated that the singer’s personal assistant took issue with allegations the cleric allegedly made against him in connection with the death.

The police were reportedly asked to investigate the claims and require the prophet to provide evidence to support his statements.

However, the police had not publicly confirmed the reported arrest or issued an official statement explaining the circumstances surrounding the alleged detention as of the time of reporting.

Toluwanisings, whose real name was Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, died on October 14, 2026, after reportedly collapsing at his residence in Ibadan.

Following his death, his personal assistant, Babadunni Gbolabo, alleged that efforts to obtain emergency medical attention involved visits to several hospitals. The University College Hospital, Ibadan, subsequently said it had no record of the singer being brought to the facility.

The circumstances surrounding the singer’s death have continued to attract public attention, alongside disagreements among members of his family over his burial arrangements.

The controversy has also extended to other gospel entertainers following the circulation of allegations on social media.

Gospel singer Tope Alabi, comedian Woli Agba and Dele Omo Woli were reported to have threatened legal action against an individual identified as Pastor Tayo Ministries over social media posts allegedly linking them to the singer’s death.

The reported arrest of Woli Arugbo Ojo has added another development to the controversy, although the allegations against him and the circumstances of his reported detention remain unclear.

As of the time of this report, there had been no public confirmation from the police regarding the alleged arrest or the cleric’s wife’s claim that she could not establish his whereabouts.
