Toluwanisings’ Father Reveals Singer’s Real Age, Disagrees With Wife Over Burial

The father of late Nigerian gospel singer Toluwanisings has disputed claims about his son’s age, insisting that the singer was 34 years old, not 44, as some social media users have suggested.

Speaking during a recent interview, the grieving father said his son was born in 1992 and was initially given the Muslim name Sodiq before later converting to Christianity.

He also disclosed that the singer’s mother died six months after giving birth to him, adding that he was in a position to know his son’s actual age.

“My son is 34 years, not 44. People are just making different assumptions. I, the father, know when I gave birth to him,” he said.

The father also recounted how he learnt of his son’s death, describing the experience as deeply painful.

According to him, he was attending a ceremony on a Wednesday when he received a distress call asking him to return home. Shortly afterwards, he began seeing photographs of his son circulating online alongside messages announcing his death.

He said the news came as a shock, as he had not expected to learn of his son’s death in that manner.

The interview also shed light on a disagreement within the family over where the late singer should be buried.

The father disclosed that he contacted his son’s wife to discuss funeral arrangements after learning of the death. According to his account, she suggested that the singer be buried in a cemetery or church, but he preferred that his son be laid to rest inside his own house.

He said his daughter-in-law rejected the proposal, explaining that she would find it difficult to continue living in a house where her husband had been buried.

Following the disagreement, the father suggested that the singer’s remains be taken to their ancestral village, where he could be buried beside his late mother.

“If they won’t allow him to be buried inside his house, they should bring him down to the village where his mother is and bury him beside her,” he said.

His account has brought renewed attention to the family’s burial discussions and the conflicting claims about the singer’s age following his death.

However, the details surrounding the burial disagreement reflect the father’s account of the discussions, and the wife’s perspective was not included in the information provided.

The singer’s death has prompted tributes and discussions among fans and members of the gospel music community, while questions about his age and final resting place remain part of the public conversation.
