UK-based Nigerian media personality Oluomo of Derby has provided an update on the ongoing court case involving Nigerian dancer and choreographer Poco Lee in the United Kingdom.
Oluomo said he was present in court on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, for the latest proceedings in the case, which involves rape and sexual offence charges against the Nigerian entertainer.
According to his account, the court has scheduled the next plea hearing for February 8, 2027, while the trial is expected to begin on March 8, 2027.
Sharing the update on X, Oluomo said he attended the proceedings because of the public interest surrounding the case.
“I was in court today, as I mentioned in my last tweet, regarding the case involving one of our Nigerian brothers, Poco Lee.
“I wanted to provide a brief update following today’s proceedings. The plea hearing is scheduled for 8th February 2027, and the trial is scheduled to begin on 8th March 2027.”
Oluomo urged members of the public to allow the judicial process to take its course and avoid reaching conclusions based on allegations or information circulating on social media.
“At this stage, it is important that we allow the legal process to take its course and avoid making assumptions or passing judgment based on allegations or information circulating publicly.”
He also stressed the principle of presumption of innocence throughout the proceedings.
“Everyone is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and that principle must be respected throughout the entire process.”
Oluomo said he would provide further updates when appropriate while respecting the court proceedings and the privacy and interests of those involved.
The case against Poco Lee remains ongoing. The scheduled trial date means the allegations have not been determined by a court, and Poco Lee remains presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
The latest development also provides a clearer timeline for the case, with the next major court proceeding now expected in February 2027, followed by the scheduled trial in March.
