Nigerian comedian and actress Real Warri Pikin has publicly apologised following a viral moment involving singer Timaya during a recent performance.
In a video circulating online, Timaya invited a female fan onto the stage while performing his hit song “Ukwu.”
Real Warri Pikin, who was backstage enjoying the performance, said she rushed onto the stage after the singer called for a woman to join him.
She explained that she was unaware that Timaya would ask the selected woman to participate in the performance in the manner that followed.
According to the comedian, she initially resisted when Timaya attempted to lift her during the performance.
Real Warri Pikin, who is married to Ikechukwu, said her husband was upset about the incident and acknowledged that being in the United States had made it difficult for them to address the situation in person.
She subsequently appealed to Nigerians to forgive her, saying she accepted responsibility for putting herself in the situation.
“Nigerians, please take it easy on me, I’m really sorry. I take full responsibility for my actions. Na me put myself for this one o. Na me use my hand put myself for this one.”
Explaining what happened, she said she had been backstage enjoying Timaya’s performance when he called for a woman to come onto the stage.
“I no know say if Timaya wan perform that him song, Ukwu, him must bring woman come out outside make him carry am. I no know.”
She said her excitement during performances contributed to her decision to rush onto the stage.
“I dey backstage dey vibe when e dey perform when he say make a lady come out. And you know me na. When it comes to vibe, anything I dey. Na him I rush come outside.”
Real Warri Pikin also addressed the moment when Timaya attempted to lift her, saying she was initially reluctant and tried to resist.
“If you watch the full video, you go see where I dey beg am. I was very reluctant.”
She said she eventually participated after Timaya insisted that she should not disrupt his performance.
“Him say no oo. Na you come outside o. No spoil my performance. Na him I do am o. Make una no vex for me abeg.”
The comedian further revealed that her husband was unhappy about the incident.
“Like this now Ikechukwu dey vex for me and you know say I dey America, e too far.”
The viral video has generated reactions online, with discussions focusing on the stage interaction and its potential impact on Real Warri Pikin’s marriage.
