Nigerian-born American rapper Ms Jorji has sparked controversy after claiming that all women approach relationships with certain expectations, arguing that financial stability and other material considerations are part of dating.
The rapper made the remarks during an appearance on the Honest Bunch Podcast, where she openly discussed what she expects from men in romantic relationships.
Ms Jorji said she was primarily interested in financial benefits and physical intimacy, describing both as what she wanted from men.
“I know what I want out of life. What I want from men is money and physical intimacy, simple,” she said.
The rapper also challenged women who criticise transactional relationships, arguing that their preferences for financially stable partners amount to a similar arrangement.
According to her, women who consider factors such as a man’s employment status, car ownership, house or financial capacity before entering a relationship are also making decisions based on material benefits.
She maintained that such expectations should not be treated differently from directly asking a man for money, suggesting that both approaches involve seeking specific benefits from a partner.
To support her argument, Ms Jorji questioned whether women who claim that relationships should not be transactional would willingly date homeless men if financial status were genuinely irrelevant to their choices.
The rapper, who also described herself as a dominatrix, made further controversial comments about men with smaller penises, arguing that they should not reproduce.
She claimed that men in this category were often among the most outspoken and difficult people she had encountered.
Her comments have added to ongoing public discussions about financial expectations, gender roles and the meaning of transactional relationships in modern dating. However, her assertions about women’s motivations reflect her personal views and do not establish that all women approach relationships in the same way.
